Searching for Bridesmaid Gift That’s Perfectly Functional?

modern and functional bridesmaid gift tote bag Q Hegarty Photography

What Makes the Best Gift for Bridesmaids?

Are you searching for perfect and functional bridesmaid gift?  You are at right place.  Bridesmaids are confidant. They are a frontline support system.  They are a team that helps make your wedding day perfect.  That’s why you (bride to be) need to think about the best way to show their appreciation. Not just any gift.  It has to say “Thank you for all you’ve done for me.”  And this gift should be able to last for years after the wedding to preserve memories and benefit them for whatever journey they embark on.

As a seasoned wedding photographer, I see all kinds of bridesmaid gifts. Many are great ways to show appreciation, but my experience has taught me that the perfect bridesmaid gift is sentimental, will help create a bond among the bridal party, and is beneficial to their everyday lives.

Why a tote bag would make a perfect bridesmaid gift?

You can’t go wrong with a quality tote bag as bridesmaid gift because it is perfect yet functional.  It’s the gift that really keeps on giving.  There is really no better idea!   It’s a way to show your appreciation and make their lives a bit easier on your wedding day.

It’s no mystery that weddings are the pinnacle of sentimental affairs. As one of the most important events in their lives, this gift should be meaningful – customizability is a great way to achieve this.  Plus, any gift you give to your bridesmaids should last for all their journeys. The lucky bridesmaids will travel, shop, and take adventures together after making your perfect wedding day a reality. They will become closer as friends after making your perfect wedding day a reality.  The matching tote bags are an unbeatable and incredibly useful reminder of their shared experience.

Prism & Proper Tote Bag

The right tote bag is fun, customizable, durable, and features long-lasting prints.  The fond memories of the perfect gift won’t fade.  So I need to ask – why gift a tote bag to your bridesmaids if it isn’t going to last?

That’s why the Prism & Proper Tote from Bridesmaids Gifts Boutique is best for wedding days, beach getaways, and everything in between. Whether packing groceries, beach towels, or supplies for the perfect girls-night-out, there’s no better choice from a company that does bridesmaid gifts right.

Made with durable structured cotton, you’d have to pack the lucky couples’ in-laws inside to break it. The metal snap closure keeps all their small wedding gifts and trinkets safe, while the soft cotton rope sits comfortably on the shoulder no matter the load.

The best part of the Prism & Proper Tote is its design flexibility. As an additional feature, you can have a custom monogram embroidered for each of your bridesmaids’ initials for that extra touch of personalization.  You can even have the monogram embroidered in 15 different colors – choose a classic black, luxurious gold, or any other of a large selection of colors! Also, enjoy four classic fonts – Kristen & Thomas, Evening News, Horizontal Monogram, or a bold Times Initial.

And remember – the Prism & Proper is meant to last a lifetime! Its neutral color scheme makes this tote bag a perfect match for all styles of outfits! Available in prismatic triangular or polka-dotted prints, the Prism & Proper Tote will catch the eye of passers-by with its clean and distinctive design.

So, whether you’re looking for a long-lasting bridesmaid gift, the perfect every-day accessory, or a blend of both, I can’t recommend enough the Prism & Proper Tote from Bridesmaids Gifts Boutique.

And let’s not forget the guys!  If you’re looking for unique personalized groomsmen gifts, check out Groovy Groomsmen Gifts.  This online shop will have everything you need for the men in your wedding party.

Say “YES” or “NO” to engagement session

beach engagement session Gloucester, MA by Q Hegarty Photography Boston wedding photographer

Woohoo!  He proposed.  You said big “YES”.  Champagne was popped open.  You are officially engaged!  I’m so excited for you!

Maybe you had a long time relationship with your high school sweet heart.  Now finally it’s time to tie the knot.  Maybe you met love of your life in college. Both of you graduated and got your dream job.  And it’s time to take your relationship to the next level, marriage.  Maybe he did a surprising proposal on your vacation.  maybe he proposed with your best friend, or family’s help.  I could come up with so many scenarios.  But they will all come down to one basic starting point after your engagement, planning, right?

You booked your venue.  Now it’s time to find the right wedding photographer.  Then you have more questions in your head once you start thinking about photography.  One of the most common questions I get from couples is “Do I need an engagement session?”

Ultimately, it’s all up to you.  I offer it as add on option.  So you will never feel you are force to have an engagement session.  It is your choice.

However, I do recommend to have an engagement session, not because I will book extra session and make extra money.  It is because the following reasons you might find valuable from an engagement session.  I totally understand the couples couldn’t get their engagement session done with me even though I’m their wedding photographer.  Because they live in other state but getting married here in New England.  However, I still do recommend to find a great photographer and get it done where is convenient to you.  So you will have amazing save the date photos.

THREE GOOD REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION IF YOU COULD

1.First of all, engagement session is like a test drive.  It will allow you to learn how your wedding photographer will work in action on your wedding day beforehand. You will know what your photographer is going to ask you to do during your portrait time.  What’s the process to get through poses etc.

As your photographer, we will have better idea how comfortable you are in front of the camera.  This is perfecting time for you and your photographer to get to know each other better beyond just email and phone communications.

2. Second, which is the result from the first.  I totally understand that most of people never experienced a professional photoshoot before.  Engagement session is especially important for those couples who don’t know what to do in front of camera.  It serves as a practice run as well.  It will help you to get rid of nerves and be confident, knowing what to expect on your wedding day.

3. You might think, Hum, I have photos from proposal.  But are they perfect as your Save the Date photos?  First impression is everything.  I’m sure you don’t want to go short on the most important event of your life, right?  So your beautiful professional engagement photos will come handy here.  Your family and friend will be raving about great amazing you looked in those photos.  They will be so excited and can’t wait to attend your wedding.  Not a bad start at all.

Five Bridge Inn Barn Wedding // Winter Barn Wedding Inspiration // Boston Wedding Photographer

Five Bridge Inn Barn Wedding Q Hegarty Photography Boston Wedding photographer

Winter is dull and dreadful here in New England.  Luckily, a winter wedding doesn’t have to be.

FIVE BRIDGE INN RUSTIC WINTER BARN WEDDING REHOBOTH, MA

The snow in March, the barn reception hall and the gazebo in wood, this is perfect combination for a typical New England barn wedding.  Many people maybe think “Yikes”, another barn wedding.  I feel you.  I have seen many not too attractive barn wedding photos.  I’m not a big fan of sunflowers on a wedding day or burlaps everywhere.

I wanted to challenge that.  Face the fact, I’m in New England.  Barns and farms are everywhere.  These wedding venues are popular choices for many many couples.  So I wanted to proof  barn wedding doesn’t mean it’s low budget wedding.  The problem is not the barn itself.  The solution is in how you could style your wedding at its location and environment.  You need to make the space works for you and turn it into an upscale, modern and elegant wedding like this Five Bridge Inn winter barn wedding.

MODERN AND EARTHY WINTER BARN WEDDING

We used the organic elements like unknown greenery, succulent directly out of the pot  gave the earthy feel while the blue glassware and textured cake gave the modern twist.  The colors of  gray, blue are perfect for earthy and  modern tone while the glory of gold and purple shine through dull March winter in New England.  It was just simply stunning.

FUN FACT ABOUT FIVE BRIDGE INN

This is one of my favorite part of Five Bridge Inn!  It features an outdoor stone pizza oven and chef on site.  They can service couples and guests in a casual, relaxing environment.  It’s perfect for serving lunch or brunch the day after a wedding.  Many rustic elements complete this cozy country outdoor space call Whisky Kitchen.  Fresh gourmet pizza and drinks?  Who can say NO to that?

A Fall Lighthouse Point Wedding // Danversport Yacht Club Wedding //Boston Wedding Photographer

Fall Davnersport Yacht Club Wedding Danvers, MA Q Hegarty Photography

Danversport Yacht Club wedding Lighthouse Point Danvers, MA Q Hegarty Photography

It was very special to me to photograph this wedding at Danversport Yacht Club because I was married at this venue 5 years ago.  I just found out I was going to be the second photographer for this wedding the day before my fifth anniversary.  Isn’t that amazing?  I mean come on,  how much chance is that?

Getting Ready in Hotel

First of all, I have to say, the Groom totally nailed his fashion.  Or should the bride take the credit?  The multi color slim suit, maroon bow tie and personalized cufflinks really put a stylish look together.

Second of all, Chris has his two brothers in his wedding party.  They are funny and easy going.  Therefore they made it so easy to hang with them while they were getting ready.

Tia and Chris had their first look outside of hotel and then we headed to their church ceremony.  It was priceless to see his reaction when he turned around.

Reception

On this perfect day in October, Tia and Chris had their wedding reception at Lighthouse Point at Danversport Yacht Club.  I was so excited to go back to Danversport Yacht Club because I kept wondering if everything is still the same as I remembered.  Is the rose bush around the gazebo where my ceremony still there?  Was and the classic white Adirondack chairs on the lawn by the water still around?

And yes, just like I remembered. All my memories rushing back to me during Tia and Chris’s portrait time.

Beautiful Cocktail Area Set Up

The cocktail area was setup elegantly and perfectly with cheese and wine, raspberry in the champagne glass, grapes and staggered wine boxes.  It was full of European influence.

The staff were so wonderfully warm and pleasant.  I had chance to chat with one of the staff during cocktail hours.  She told me she has been working there for over 10 years.  And she loves to work there because how well the employer treated the employees.

How often do you really hear that?  Really.  Brides, doesn’t that make you feel worry free and secured if you are looking for a wedding venue?  I thought that was quite a comment from a employee.  If they treat their employee well, then they will treat their brides and grooms like Queen and King, right?

Three Wedding Sites at Danversport Yacht Club

There were two weddings happening.  However, this venue is so versatile with three separate reception space and their own ceremony site.

The Harborview Ballroom and Sun Deck Wedding

Are you craving for a glamorous dream wedding outside of Boston?  If so, this would be it for you.  The Harvoirview Ballroom has 5000+ square feet of deck and overlooking Danversport Yacht club grounds.  It has massive capacity of 200 –  650 guests if you will have a big fat Greek wedding.  This spectacular room has a private deck overlooking the water with direct access to a gazebo and beautiful garden.  It has the best combination of glamor, waterfront and nature.  What else could you hope for, right?

TERRACE  BALL ROOM AND GARDEN WEDDING

This reception venue has 4000+ square feet of waterfront gardens with capacity of 100-225 guests.  It features a large dance floor, a magnificent pergola outside for ceremony, waterside patio and gardens.  It’s just perfect for mid size romantic weddings.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT AND COURTYARD WEDDING

This is where Tia and Chris’s wedding was held.  It’s designed for a more intimate weddings.  It can accommodate 50 to 90 guests.  It offers water views on three sides and a rock waterfall centered in the beautiful tented courtyard.  It is perfect for cocktail hours as you can see in photos.

However, I didn’t get married in any one of these locations.  It is or was a secret room at Danversport Yacht Club.  It was 6 years ago.  Gosh, I can’t believe time flew by.

Secret Reception Space for Small Wedding Like Mine

Joe and I had a small wedding with about 45 guests.  Any room above was big for my wedding.  I don’t know if they still offer this.  But I was offered with their smallest room called Captain”s Room.  We had our ceremony at Gazebo, right outside of Captain’s Room.  It had the perfect flow.  So if you are having a smaller wedding, but want all the water views, that would be it!

Overall, It is an amazing venue with stunning views of coastal waters, scenic gardens, and outdoor ceremony sites from every angle.  Danversport Yacht Club is a beautiful and diverse waterfront wedding venue in Northshore , MA.

Granite Rose Wedding // Katie + Noah // NH Wedding Photographer

Granite Rose Wedding Q Hegarty Photography

Granite Rose Wedding Q Hegarty Photography

Katie and Noah celebrated their love with a beautiful spring Wedgewood Granite Rose wedding in Hampstead, NH. The warm season was just starting.  The “Granite Rose” sounds perfect for a warm, beautiful and romantic spring wedding.  I was so happy to be their wedding photographer.

From the moment I arrived to photograph Katie and Noah’s wedding, I knew that it would be a day to remember. To start, Granite Rose is an exceptional venue for an elegant New England Wedding. All Wedgewood Wedding properties are beautiful, but Granite Rose wedding venue has stunning views and well-appointed ballrooms. It was the perfect backdrop for Katie and Noah’s wedding day!

Katie was an absolutely stunning bride. She never liked to have her pictures taken even though she is a beautiful girl.  Her friends and bridesmaids confirmed that she hated being in pictures, you would never know it!

The Bridal Look

She was so natural in front of the camera! Katie’s wedding style was exquisite. Her gown looked like it was made especially for her and had such an elegant back.

But one of the most unique things about her wedding day look was her long, double-layered veil. Katie had prepared both a long and a short veil, not sure which one she would use. But then, she decided to wear both! I’m so glad she did, because the longer veil added such drama to her portraits.

Nervous Dad

The father of the bride was so nervous to see his little girl emerge from the bridal suite. He and I had a chat while waiting for Katie to make her grand entrance. He is a very sweet dad, and he shared stories about her growing up. When he saw his little girl all grown up, ready to walk down the aisle it was such an emotional moment. He was so proud to walk his little girl down the aisle.

The outdoor ceremony space at this Granite Rose wedding was stunning. Katie and Noah looked so happy as they exchanged their vows. I stole the couple away for some formal portraits before we joined up with their family and friends at the reception. The reception in the ballroom was filled with joy. Between the heartfelt speeches and the celebration on the dance floor, it was clear that this couple was loved by their guests. It was a wonderful day.

Katie and Noah, it was such a pleasure to be your wedding photographer. I wish you nothing but the best in your life together as husband and wife!

Chase House Mill Falls Wedding // Erica + Ian // NH Wedding Photographer

Church Landing Wedding Q Hegarty Photography

Erica and Ian tied the knot on October 20th, with a beautiful wedding at Chase House Mill Falls in Meredith, NH.

Erica is a Kindergarten teacher who met and fell in love with Ian when his two children happened to be in her class. She was struck by the single father’s care, and now, they are going to become a family of four together!

Chase House Mill Falls Wedding on the Lake Winnipesaukee

I’m so fortunately to be a wedding photographer in NH because of the opportunity to capture beautiful weddings in this nature state all year round.  On the day of the wedding, we were relieved to see such good weather. This fall in New England has been particularly wet and rainy, so when the wedding day was overcast but still sunny, we celebrated a little. After all, that’s perfect wedding photography weather.

I love when even the elements come out to celebrate a couple’s love. That was absolutely the case for Erica and Ian’s wedding at Chase House in Meredith, NH. It was everything you could want in a New England Fall wedding. From the rich colors in the florals to the stunning foliage, it was a perfect October day on Lake Winnipesaukee.

In fact, when we got to the dock for wedding portraits, we another wedding-day surprise. The crescent moon was hanging low in the sky with a beautiful sunset over the lake. You can see in the photos what a stunning backdrop this created. The pink and purple twilight was reflected in the water resulting in this dreamy, ethereal background.

I loved working with Erica because of the confidence she exuded. I work with plenty of brides, and not all of them are comfortable being photographed. Not so for Erica! This bride was perfectly confident—and then excited to see the pictures come back in. Of course, I couldn’t blame her. She was simply exquisite in her gown with her fall-colored floral crown. And her smile was simply infectious. She and Ian looked so happy in every photograph.

After Erica received the sneak peek photos, she said that she had fallen in love and was obsessed with them! She even submitted some of her photos to NH Wedding Magazine, where they were accepted for online showcase and print in early 2019. I’m very excited about that. I’m proud of how much I have accomplished since I started wedding photography last year.

Mill Falls Wedding Venues

Mill Falls property is mix of two wedding venues, The Chase House and Church Landing.  I’m sure they are one of the favorite wedding venues for wedding photographer in NH as well because the magnificent lake view and  twilight skies.

It also offers market place of restaurants, book stores, boutique shops and more.  The Chase House is the wedding venue across from the boardwalk, up the hill with view of overlooking the Lake Winnipesaukee.

Chase House

Chase House is one of the popular lake Winnipesaukee wedding venues located in downtown Meredith, NH.  There are many wedding venues in lake region.  However, I don’t think anyone could compete with Mill Falls’s wedding venue’s views, convenient locations and entertainment services.

The Flagship Ballroom at Chase House is designed for an intimate waterfront wedding.  The Flagship Ballroom can accommodate up to 120 of your guests in a banquet setting with a dance floor. A lush grass patio is also available for your ceremony and/or cocktail reception that’s where Erica and Ian tied the knot.

Church Landing

The Church Landing is situated directly on the shores of Meredith Bay and accommodating up to 230 guests in a banquet setting with a polished wooden dance floor, the Winnipesaukee Ballroom.  Church Landing also provides an outdoor waterfront setting for your ceremony and/or cocktail reception.

This place is definitely perfect for a weekend getaway for New Englanders or just a wedding weekend.

Spring Five Bridge Inn Wedding Shoot / Q Hegarty Photography / Boston Wedding Photographer

Five Bridge Inn Wedding Q Hegarty Photography

Five Bridge Inn Wedding Q Hegarty Photography

Recently, I took part in an amazing wedding styled shoot at Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth, MA.  It was a true honor to participate and photograph at Five Bridge Inn.  This wedding styled shoot was a huge undertaking.  There were 16 vendors working together from MA , RI to UK and Canada. It was an amazing experience working with these creative professionals.

Throughout the day, wedding vendors from around Massachusetts and Rhode Island worked together to showcase early spring wedding inspiration. By the time we were done, this shoot had captured the look and the feel of a luxury and romantic wedding. It went on to be published by Let’s Bee Together, a UK-based publication!  Can you imagine we actually just got it done in time before the thunder storm hit us?

When orchestrating a styled shoot like this one, I like to focus on the romance of a wedding day. The true feelings behind the images. And, of course, with a styled shoot, there’s an amazing amount of creative license that I get as a wedding photographer! That’s why I loved being able to capture this wedding inspiration photoshoot at the Five Bridge Inn, a charming wedding venue.

Five Bridge Inn has a classic New England look and feel.  However, it provides the perfect balance of rustic charm and understated elegance. The Inn itself has bedrooms to accommodate up to 14 guests.  It’s perfect for bride and groom getting ready.  Five Bridge Inn has an elegant tent for an elegant outdoor event or a barn imbued with New England rustic charm. With miles of trails through pastures and woodlands, there are so many different places for your outdoor wedding portraits.

GROOM’S WEDDING STYLE INSPIRATION

In this styled shoot, I also took time and care to capture special moments with the groom and groomsmen. All too often, we focus on making that storybook wedding for a bride, but it’s his day, too!

There are plenty of options for grooms to add little details that showcase their style.

  1. you could share cigars with your groomsmen. A monogrammed humidor is a handsome and sophisticated touch.
  2. Another idea is to share some aged Scotch or bourbon with groomsmen in stylish glasses. Traditionally, when photographing a wedding, there are plenty of shots of the ring, the bride’s shoes and the bride’s gown. But capturing the groom’s details is especially important as well.  I love to include the sharp, crisp details of a folded pocket square, the handsome details of a groom’s heirloom cufflinks or a close shot of his boutonniere. These personalized details really set the tone of the day. So many grooms put time, care and thought into their wedding day style. Or maybe the brides spent time to put everything together.  It’s important to me to make sure it is preserved through wedding photography for either him or her or both.

Don’t be afraid to ask me if you need ideas! I have worked with plenty of  wedding vendors in New England area.  I know some of the best. I’m looking forward to working with you to make wedding everything you want it to be!

The couple’s original plans for the day was to have a first look and ceremony outside, with games out on the lawn—but Mother Nature had other plans! The rain in the forecast meant I had to change all my location and lighting plans along with Corrie and John’s new schedule, with the ceremony in the reception hall. Still, no amount of rain can stop a happy ending. And despite the weather, these two positively shone in their love for each other and for their family and friends who came to celebrate with them.

One of the fun things about photographing this wedding was the fact that Corrie and John didn’t want to go the traditional route. They didn’t want a first dance or a parent dance or anything that was too staged. Instead, they simply wanted everyone to have fun and feel comfortable being themselves.

I tried to do the same for the two of them, especially since I knew that they were both shy and didn’t like being the center of attention. That meant they weren’t necessarily comfortable in front of the camera. And that’s fine—not everyone is! My job as a wedding photographer is to make sure I can genuine smile and document the love story of the day, and I do what I can to help my couples relax to do just that!

John & Corrie, thank you for asking me to be part of your wedding story. I’m glad that, even with the rain, it was definitely a day to remember!

The Red Barn at Outlook Farm Wedding in South Berwick, ME / Danielle & Matt

The Red Bart at Outlook Farm wedding South Berwick, ME by Q Hegarty Photography

pretty ceremony at red barn outlook farm wedding by Q Hegarty Photography

I fell in love photographing Danielle and Matt’s perfect summer wedding at The Red Barn at Outlook Farm, in charming South Berwick, ME,

I asked Danielle what was the reason this venue had her heart as wedding venue?  She said she loves it because The Red Barn at Outlook Farm has a rustic feel with chic elements that she was looking for her wedding.

Yes, this barn wedding venue has rustic charm, chic trendy decor with modern day amenities.  It is an unique event space that specializes in wedding receptions and ceremonies year round.

HOW DID BRIDE AND GROOM MET

Danielle and Matt met at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Matt played baseball while Danielle played soccer.  They knew of each other.   However they never officially met until they had a class together.

One day in class, their professor said everyone was being to chatty.   So she asked people to switch seats. Danielle ran right over to sit next to Matt!  And they have been inseparable every since!

She loves him being a very kind and loving person.  He admires her because of her sense of humor and her motivation.  What a fun loving couple!  They both tell people how they so quickly became each other’s family.

I have witnessed their love within families that I alway admire and value so much.  They each fit right in immediately with each others.

We started photographing while the couples were getting ready in Homewood Suites in Portsmouth, NH.  Ladies had a such a blast opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate before the ceremony. The excitement and happiness were filled in the air.  So as the champagne.

I have seen many photos of The Red Barn at outlook Farm wedding. However this rustic and chic barn wedding in ME has its special place in my heart.  It was full of soft and romantic colors of creme, ivory, peach, blush and navy blue.

ONE OF THE PRETTIES CEREMONY SITE

There were so many details to photograph from Betsey John bridal shoes, gorgeous bridal gown with layers of tulles to gorgeous floral arrangement by F As In Flowers.   The reception center pieces were arranged in different ways to mix and match perfectly.

Oh, did I mention the TREE? A lush garland of olive and seeded eucalyptus was woven throughout the branches with floral clusters of: Peach roses, Juliet roses, local hydrangeas and locally grown dahlias, spray roses and peach stock.   It was just magical.  I just wanted to hug that tree.  It was definitely a #STYLEMEPRETTY dream wedding!

I was trying to get some bridal portraits done before the ceremony.  However, it was a little tough on find a right location without being seen by the groom and some early guests.  You know, there are always some early arrivers on a wedding day.

You may not think the location we used is pretty in persons.  It’s just an outdoor patio space on the back side of reception hall.  This is where you need to trust your photographers for location!!!

These bridal portraits are beyond gorgeous!!!  Danielle was nervous.  She felt she was always awkward in front of camera. I am so glad she was comfortable with me.  Boy, we had so much fun.

There were many emotional moments throughout the wedding day.  I was so honored to captured those moments to share with the newlyweds.  I hope these photos will walk them through their amazing wedding day all over again.

The music was pumping.  People were dancing as night went on.  Danielle and Matt were having fun dancing and singing along with their friends and family. Can’t you believe their 90+ year old grandmother was dancing away as well to celebrate this special occasion?!  It was definitely a three generation celebration!

Please check out amazing vendors in NH and MA for this fabulous wedding at end of the collages.

Wedding Trend 2018

Spring is one of my favorite seasons to shoot weddings.  It is great news since it’s also one of the most popular times of year to have a wedding.  As a Boston wedding photographer, I know that as the snow begins to melt my camera is about to get a serious workout.

Are you planning your wedding for spring 2018?  Stressed out about 2018 bridal gown trends?  Need to know what the hottest wedding colors for spring 2018 are?

I’ve got your back.

Here’s what I’ve found are some of the hottest bridal gown and wedding color trends to look out for in 2018.

Hot 2018 Bridal Gown Trends!

Trend #1. Confident and classic.

Minimalism is totally in this coming spring.  Gowns with surprising details are even hotter (think pockets or a large statement bow).  Less is more is definitely the case here.  Small elements make big statement!  This is one of my favorite wedding concept, from wedding dress to reception table setting.

Trend #2. Non-traditional.

2018 is the year of the non-traditional bride.  Pants and Jacket?  Yup, urban bridal look along with industrial wedding venue.  Maybe black wedding dress is not most brides’ choice.  But adding a little black detail is the trend for the modern and edgy look to your 2018 wedding dress.

Trend #3. Cape.  Really?  It reminds me princess Leia.  Maybe it’s designed for the brides have runway model’s body.  I dont’ know how many real brides will have their eyes on it.  At least it’s not my cup of tea.

Trend #4. Glamour.  It doesn’t matter what generation you were in or you are in,  this is alway in trend, not just 2018.  Extensive details with sheer fabric, lace, beads, jewels and feathers on the gowns makes you glowing on your wedding day.  Berta holds big part of my heart!  In my opinion, it has both glamorous and elegance in each design.

Trend #4. Re-wearable gowns.

Gone are the days of one-time gowns. That means you’ll have a ton of dresses to choose from that you can wear a second or even third time.  I am a very realistic person.  I love this idea!

Top Picks for Spring Wedding Color 2018

I briefly mentioned colors among the bridal gown trends we’re seeing for 2018, but color is also a guiding factor for spring wedding style.  So if you can’t figure out what wedding color for spring 2018 is right for you.  Here’s a few suggestions to get you started.

– Swap out gold, rose gold, and brass for silver and chrome this year.  With 1970 home décor coming back in style, it’s no surprise that silver and chrome are making a big comeback along with it.  This is not just for dećor only.  You may surprisingly see how much the wedding gown color has been shifted fully or partially from traditional white, ivory to champagne, sliver, light gray and blush.

-Spring-friendly lavender & lilac.  As the weather starts to warm flowers and herbs start to spring out of the ground.  That means that colors like lavender and lilac are a great option for your springtime wedding.

-Wine Red and Peach. Soft peach with rich wine red is the perfect spring combination and also happens to be a hot new trend.  Use it for your flowers and décor and maybe even your bridesmaid dresses.

There you have it, the 2018 bridal gown trends, and top picks for wedding colors for spring 2018.  However, I feel that the trend is set by the wedding creatives, especially the fashion designers.  Not every trend fits into your style and budget.  Not every bride would like to follow the trend.  Whatever style and colors make your heart desires and falls in love with, that is your perfect trend!

And if you’re planning a wedding this spring, I’d love to be your wedding photographer.  Shoot me an email or phone call so we can chat about your wedding.
